TEHRAN --— The vice president of Iran’s Sports Federation for the Disabled said that the Iranian disabled athletes have to be supported more by the officials.

“We are preparing for the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games to be held in the next two months, therefore we need more financial support. Iran’s International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decreased our budget in the current year while they should have increased it because of overhead expenditure ahead of Paralympic games,” said Ghaffur Karegari.
“Prejudicial behavior can undoubtedly harm the athletes and we hope they provide well-equipped facilities for us as soon as possible,” he added
